Alright friends. I'm back. It's time to get serious about this wedding cake adventure. Agreeing to make the cake for my dad's upcoming wedding has proven to be much more emotionally taxing than anticipated.
Wedding cakes are hard. When they are for your dad, when he is getting remarried.....boy, I can't even put it into words. I'm so happy for him. Thrilled that he's been able to find a woman that makes him happy and that he's been able to move forward since my mom's passing.
That doesn't make it easy, though. Not to mention it's for my dad. He's....sort of a perfectionist. Pressure is on. The next few months, expect numerous "practice" posts. I'm gonna need them.
Cheers to firing up the oven. Wish me luck with the fondant!
Bon appetit!
Jen, I know what you are going through. I made Tony and Kim's cake. Stressful is exactly what it is. You will be fine, remember we are our own worst critics. :)
